Drive Targeted Traffic
Attract visitors who will convert:
- SEO optimization: Target buyer-intent keywords
- Content marketing: Solve problems, answer questions
- Social media: Build community, share value
- Email marketing: Nurture leads, promote offers
- Paid traffic (advanced): Scale with proven offers
Tip: Quality traffic converts better than quantity. Focus on intent over volume.
Optimize Conversions
Turn visitors into commissions:
- Test different CTAs: Buttons, text links, banners
- Improve page speed: Faster sites convert better
- Use social proof: Testimonials, case studies
- Create comparison content: Help readers choose
- Track everything: Analytics, heatmaps, A/B tests
Tip: Compare conversion only across periods with the same traffic definition and attribution window.
Scale & Diversify
Build sustainable affiliate business:
- Add more products: Expand within your niche
- Diversify traffic sources: Don't rely on one channel
- Create your own products: Higher margins, control
- Build team/automation: Scale beyond yourself
- Reinvest profits: Content, tools, paid traffic
Tip: Keep each program's clicks, ordered items, returns, exclusions, and net commission separate.
How the affiliate revenue estimate works
The calculator starts with the sales funnel you control: monthly visitors, the percentage who buy, the average order value, and the commission percentage. Its core formula is monthly visitors × conversion rate × average order value × commission rate. The number of programs is shown for planning context, but it does not multiply the result. Joining another program does not create another visitor or sale.
Worked example
Suppose a comparison site receives 10,000 monthly visitors, 2% complete a purchase, the average referred order is $75, and the commission is 8%. The estimate is 10,000 × 0.02 × $75 × 0.08 = $1,200 per month. The yearly projection is $14,400 if those inputs remain stable. Returns, canceled orders, attribution failures, taxes, and program-specific exclusions can reduce the amount actually paid.
How much can you make from affiliate marketing?
There is no reliable universal income range. A small, focused audience can outperform a much larger general audience when visitors arrive with purchase intent. Use your own affiliate dashboard data whenever possible: outbound clicks, ordered items, shipped items, conversion rate, and net commission are more useful than a generic traffic benchmark.
What is a good affiliate conversion rate?
A “good” rate depends on the traffic source and the action being measured. A product review ranking for a specific model usually converts differently from a social post or a broad educational article. Start with your observed rate, then run low, expected, and high scenarios rather than treating one percentage as a forecast.
Which programs pay the highest commissions?
Commission percentage alone can be misleading. A high percentage on a low-converting product may earn less than a smaller percentage on a product buyers already trust. Compare the commission basis, cookie or attribution window, reversal rules, payout threshold, geographic coverage, and whether recurring purchases qualify.
How much traffic do you need?
The formula works at any traffic level. What matters is whether the sample is large enough to estimate conversion without a few orders distorting the result. With limited data, plan from clicks and confirmed sales over several months. Do not buy traffic based only on this calculator.

Limitations
This is a gross commission planning model, not an earnings promise. It does not predict search rankings, audience growth, refunds, chargebacks, product availability, tracking loss, taxes, payment holds, or changes to a program's terms. Check the current agreement for each program before publishing links. For audience-specific pricing, compare the sponsorship rate calculator and engagement rate calculator.
